HISTORY

Mr. Mireng N Sangma son of Rasang Ch Marak and Noning N Sangma was the first baptised Christian in the locality. He was baptised on 31st November, 1927. Goman Ch Marak, Nopan T Sangma and Jengmi R Marak got baptism on 22nd September, 1929.

Chanat T Sangma was born and brought up at Garobadha. He was teacher by profession. After his appointment as a school teacher, he also gave his service to the Lord through preaching and by many deeds. By his vigorous and unselfish efforts, slowly the number of baptized members started to increased. The increased of Christian Members and dedicated families led Garobadha to become one of the local Church on the 19th May 1978. Before to a Local Church, Garobadha was under the Sonamite Centre of Rangsakona Baptist Church.

    The leader of the Garobadha Local Baptist Church has aims and visions to make a full-pledged Church with adjoining Villages of Garobadha. So, Mr. Natsing T Sangma of Maljanggre was sent to the A∙chik Bible School Tura, to persue theological education but unfortunately during his studies he lost his life. Later on, another dedicated Church leader Mr. Ruseng A Sangma was sent to the same Bible School and after his completion of his studies, he was appointed as Pastor where he gave his service for some years in the Church. Garobadha Church as centre no. IV participated for 9 years with Rangsakona Baptist Church.
